BBC Showcase Latin America 2006 opens on Sunday (17 September) for three days. This is the third consecutive year that BBC Worldwide Americas has hosted its own sales fair in Rio de Janeiro for our South American customers
Building on the enormous success of the event in previous years, BBC Showcase Latin America is offering 225 buyers from more than 65 of Latin America's most prominent broadcasters the opportunity to acquire a broad range of titles. Also at Showcase this year will be BBC Motion Gallery, BBC Sport and BBC Learning.
Mark Young, Managing Director Global TV Sales, says: "Latin America has been identified by BBC Worldwide as a key region for strategic growth and as such BBC Showcase Latin America has developed into an incredibly important event for us. The show gives us a fantastic opportunity to build on the strong relationships we have developed within the region, and we are looking forward to an even bigger and bolder event this year.

Amongst the 400 hours of programming being featured at BBC Showcase Latin America will be lead titles: Ancient Rome - The Rise and Fall of an Empire, Robin Hood, Galapagos, Planet Earth, Charlie & Lola, The Secret Show and Doctor Who.
Broadcasters attending include Telefe Argentina, Globo TV Brazil, Televisa, Canal 22 Mexico, Gobosat, TV UNAM, 20 Century Fox, TV Escola, Chilevision, Easy Sun and TV Multrio.
